Classic Greasers Turned 40

March 24, 1983 the classic movie The Outsiders was released. Many of us remember reading the classic novel by S.E. Hinton in high school. It was a book that appeals to readers over multiple generations and social classes. The timeless tale of the Greasers vs. the Socs. We were lucky enough to hear S.E. Hinton speak about writing the book and her involvement in the movie filming in Tulsa, OK. It's amazing to think that an idea of a young high school girl could have such an impact on so many. So inspiring!

The movie starred a group of young actors who went on to film numerous blockbuster films. The characters were tough and resilient. They were likable. But what is a given when dealing with Greasers? Grease! Anyone who works on cars knows its not always easy to get grease out of clothes, furniture and carpets.

Having grease or oil stains on your carpet can be frustrating, but don't worry, there are several ways to effectively remove grease from carpet. Here are some tips and tricks to get rid of those stubborn stains and restore your carpet's beauty:

  1. Blot the grease stain: If the grease stain is still wet, start by blotting it with a clean cloth or paper towel. Do not rub the stain, as this will only spread the grease further into the carpet fibers.

  2. Use dish soap: Dish soap is an effective grease remover and can be used on carpets as well. Mix a teaspoon of dish soap with a cup of warm water and apply the solution to the grease stain. Let it sit for a few minutes, then blot with a clean cloth.

  3. Try baking soda: Baking soda is another excellent cleaning agent that can help remove grease from carpet. Sprinkle some baking soda over the grease stain and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Vacuum the area thoroughly to remove the baking soda and the grease.

  4. Call a professional: If the grease stain is particularly stubborn or you're concerned about damaging your carpet, it may be best to call Resurrection Carpet Cleaning. We have the expertise and equipment to safely remove even the toughest stains.
